Vladimir Putin's comments about Democratic candidate Kamala Harris caused a stir in his televised interview in the city of Vladivostok, when he was asked who he would support in the upcoming elections in the United States. Everyone expected him to say negative things about her. and his mentor Biden, who promotes a war against his country, suggesting that the best thing would be for Donald Trump to win, due to the apparent good relationship he maintains with Trump; or ultimately maintain an unbiased stance or omit as much as possible. However, he surprised everyone since he intervened. He began by saying: “Mr. Biden has been removed from the race and has recommended his voters support Ms. Harris, so we will support her too.” To reinforce his message and make it more credible, he continued with some praise: “He has such an expressive and contagious way that shows that he is doing well.” In this way, the public was put into its pocket. He went on to say, “Trump has put more sanctions on Russia than any president and if Harris does it right, maybe she can refrain from doing this kind of thing.” The interviewer was very surprised by the naturalness and simplicity that someone so powerful could seem so common and gentleman to someone who is supposedly is his enemy. But politics always has those kinds of surprises. For political leaders of Putin's importance, who is a master at communicating, everything that is said or done, even gestures, are political messages: communication tactics are at the disposal of any question. A politician will always try to make you feel like a normal person and mysterious at the same time. However, Putin's decades in the highest political positions, knowing that he is a former KGV intelligence agent, presuppose that everything he says has a political calculation and consequences not only for his country, but for the entire world, with even more so if we are talking about an electoral campaign. What he did was get out of the way of Donald Trump, who in previous campaigns has been accused in the presidential debates of being an ally of Putin. In reality he is doing him a favor, by calling into question any political interference in the Republican candidate with the enemy. The overload against Trump already accumulates many liabilities: he has the hegemonic press against him, complaints pursue him, trials, criticism, polls do not favor him. Finally, Donald Trump, who never keeps things quiet, said: "I don't know exactly what to say about that. I don't know if I was insulting him or if he did me a favor." Deep down, I sensed that if Putin had said things favorable to Donald Trump or had said nothing at all, it would put him in trouble for the remainder of the campaign. Finally, Putin, to tone down the interference of his statements, said: "Ultimately, the election depends on the American people who are going to make the choice and we will respect that."
